Recommended Canyons route
- Arrive with Workshop T1 + Solar Mk1 + Storage Crate already built (see Starting Area).
- Park in the wide gravel basin at the canyon entrance — flat, sheltered from wind.
- Day 1 in Canyons: gather 12 Common Minerals + 6 Copper Wire + 4 Electronics → unlock Workshop T2.
- Day 2: dusk Honey run (bring 4 Bandages — bees still sting), then push to the central tower.
- Day 3: south rim tower + Natural Rubber stockpile for Wind Turbine.
Honey — the non-obvious resource
Honey is the only Canyons material gated by time-of-day. Beehive trees only release Honey between 18:00 and 21:00 in-game. The Steel Axe (Workshop T2 unlock) chops a beehive tree in 2 hits; the basic axe takes 5 and you eat extra bee stings. Plan the dusk loop: drive to the beehive grove at 17:30, park, harvest 6–8 Honey by 21:00, sleep in the van.
Signal towers
Two towers in Canyons. The central-canyon tower needs 2 Planks + 4 Scrap Metal + 1 Copper Wire. The south-rim tower needs 2 Planks + 4 Scrap Metal + 1 Electronics. Both drop a blueprint page from the Workshop T2 pool. Full list at Signal Towers.
Common questions
What is the Canyons biome in Outbound?
The second biome — narrow rock corridors and abandoned industrial sites. Tier range T1–T3, ~25 distinct resources. This is the biome that takes you from raw survival into actual crafting via Electronics and Workshop T2.
Where do you find Honey in Outbound?
Honey spawns near beehive trees in the Canyons biome, dusk-only (between roughly 18:00 and 21:00 in-game). The bees are dormant after 21:00 — you can harvest then but yield drops to 1 per node.
Where do you find Electronics in Outbound?
Electronics drops from abandoned industrial debris in the Canyons. The densest concentration is around the collapsed factory in the central canyon — bring an axe to clear the foliage gating the back rooms.
Is Canyons safe at night?
Wolves patrol from 23:00 to 02:00. They are aggressive and pack-spawn. Either sleep through the window or carry 2+ Bandages.
