Module priorities
Outbound gives you 12 interior slots in the T1 camper van. Fill them in this order for the most efficient early game:
| Slot | Module | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Basic Furnace | Gates Iron Bars and heat. Must be first. |
| 2 | Storage Crate | Free +8 slots; mats hoard fast. |
| 3 | Workshop Lv.1 | Unlocks Wire and Engine Upgrade. |
| 4 | Comfort Bed | +1 comfort; faster night skip. |
| 5 | Solar Panel Mk1 | Ends power crunch. |
| 6 | Water Tank | Removes mandatory lake detours. |
| 7 | Workbench Lv.2 | Plastic & Gear unlocks. |
| 8 | Fabricator | T3 electronics; huge jump. |
Mobile vs static base
The game encourages mobility, but you can drop a secondary static base near Crystal Fields once you hit T3 to farm Exotic Ore without driving back. Do not invest T4 modules in it — it’s a throwaway resource node.
Layout principles
- Place the Furnace on the driver side; it vents heat back into the cabin.
- Solar panels stack efficiency — put Mk2 adjacent to Mk1 for a +5 % bonus.
- Never block the rear hatch; it’s your resource drop zone.
