The things nobody tells you — collected from patch notes, Steam threads and community testing.

Game version 1.0Updated 2026-05-11Platform: Steam (PC)
  1. 1.Face east before you sleep
Solar Mk1 produces 40% more at dawn if your van faces east.
  2. 2.Smelt in batches of 10+
Residual-heat halves Coal cost after the 10th bar per session.
  3. 3.Don't drive before Storage Expansion
You waste 60% of your runs on inventory trips.
  4. 4.Thermal Tea is the best buff
+10 Heat for 3 minutes — cheaper than a stove at night.
  5. 5.Sleep at 19:00 on night 1
Skip the freeze if you haven't built a Stove yet.
  6. 6.Pickaxe Mk2 works on Iron too
Don't keep the old one. Deconstruct for materials.
  7. 7.Stack Solar panels adjacently
+5% efficiency per adjacent panel, up to +15%.
  8. 8.Biofuel Pods bloom at night
After 20:00 is the only time they're harvestable.
  9. 9.Save before boss rooms
    Autosave triggers after, not before.
  10. 10.Coastline NPC trades blueprints
    Bring Pearls, not Biofuel.
  11. 11.Water Recycler > Water Tank
Skip the tank entirely once Fabricator is online.
  12. 12.Park on slopes for fuel saving
Downhill starts use zero Biofuel for the first 30s.
  13. 13.Comfort Bed stacks with Tea
Night skip in 10s instead of 25s.
  14. 14.Pickaxe durability is fake
They never actually break — repair costs are optional.
  15. 15.Fishing at dawn gives Pearls
3% at dawn, ~0.5% other times.
  16. 16.Mountains require Insulated Cabin
Don't enter without it — hypothermia is permanent HP loss.
  17. 17.Summit Beacon has a hard gate
Communicator is required; no workaround exists.
  18. 18.Pin every deposit on the map
Homing Boots arrow follows the closest pin — saves the constant pause-to-check loop.
  19. 19.Cargo Rack is external
Cold biomes freeze items stored there — careful with perishables.
  20. 20.Keep one empty slot
Some blueprints drop immediately and are lost if inventory is full.
